Olivia Menard – Ohio
Olivia Menard is a UGA Master Beekeeper and the head beekeeper at Brookfield Apiaries. While she was managing a team of aerospace engineers in the commercial aviation industry, Olivia began keeping bees to practice mindfulness. Bees quickly became an integral part of Olivia’s path toward learning about where her food comes from, and looking for ways to make food sources more local and sustainable. Most recently, Olivia has partnered with the University of Georgia Bee Lab in research that will better equip beekeepers to thrive in areas affected by Aethina tumida, the invasive parasitic small hive beetle.
Olivia serves on several STEAM Career and Technical boards. She is often seen judging at National Society of Professional Engineers Math Counts and Technology Student Association Leadership Competitions, and performing the role of Master of Ceremonies for various educational and recreational events, as well as performing arts competitions.
