Miah Chalfant – Montana
Miah Chalfant is an artist by trade, a hunter-gatherer by tradition, and a cowgirl. She is based on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in southeastern Montana. Her work draws on traditional knowledge, using hides, rendered fats, and natural pigments. Harvesting these materials on her homelands and teaching others inspire her work and daily life.
