Intro to Packing Clinic

April 1

  • « Fish, Hunt, Forage – Trivia Takeover at Blacksmith Brewing
  • 2023 SC Turkey Camp »

Want to start packing horses or mules into the backcountry?

On Saturday, April 1, join the Jemez and Pecos Chapters of Back Country Horsemen and Artemis New Mexico for a hands-on, pack animal clinic. Throughout the day, packers will introduce and demo the use of different saddles and gear, general packing and weighing–including packing for hunting, knots, putting on and fitting a saddle, how to mount and dismount a riding horse while packing, how to pony an animal, and the use of a string.

We’ll be at the Cyclone Center in Stanley, NM from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. The cost is $20 per person. Register soon! Space is limited to twenty participants.

For more information or to make a payment, contact Jennifer Black at (505)363-9919 or jen@blackmaremedia.com
