AK: Refuge Walk and Advocacy Talk

May 21

  • « TN: Turkey Trot
  • May Social Hour »
Join Southeast Alaska Artemis for a walk through the Mendenhall Wetlands State Game Refuge.  The draft of Juneau-Douglas North Crossing PEL Study is now open for public comment. All but one of the proposed routes would cross the Refuge, threatening its ecological integrity, public access, and hunting, fishing, and recreational opportunities. We encourage you to come share your passion for protecting the Refuge. Band together as sportswomen to show that our community is paying attention, using our voices, and encouraging and empowering others to protect this irreplaceable habitat. Together, we can advocate for a process that uses the best available science to identify the second crossing alternative that has the least negative impact on humans, natural resources, and the habitat values of the Mendenhall Wetlands State Game Refuge. Sign up now to have your voice heard!
