DESCRIPTION:Want to start packing horses or mules into the backcountry? \nOn Saturday\, April 1\, join the Jemez and Pecos Chapters of Back Country Horsemen and Artemis New Mexico for a hands-on\, pack animal clinic. Throughout the day\, packers will introduce and demo the use of different saddles and gear\, general packing and weighing–including packing for hunting\, knots\, putting on and fitting a saddle\, how to mount and dismount a riding horse while packing\, how to pony an animal\, and the use of a string. \nWe’ll be at the Cyclone Center in Stanley\, NM from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
