DESCRIPTION:Join Artemis Georgia Ambassador & NWF EcoLeader\, Olivia M Menard\, for an overnight immersion into the world of Ruffed Grouse! This is a unique opportunity to travel some of Georgia’s more remote forests with biologists and researchers. Participants will be assisting the researchers and providing valuable input that will contribute to this important study about Ruffed Grouse abundance and genetic connectivity across the North Georgia mountains\, the southern periphery of ruffed grouse range. \nOur group will convene in person on the evening of Thursday\, April 25th\, for an informational orientation with our Ruffed Grouse experts: Emily Rushton\, Wild Turkey\, Furbearer\, and Ruffed Grouse species biologist for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources\, Wildlife Resources Division\, and Clay Delancey\, Research Coordinator in the Warnell School of Forestry & Natural Resources. Emily & Clay will provide location and activity details regarding what participants will do during the Ruffed Grouse surveys. \nTo ensure all participants are ready for the event\, there will be an info session held via zoom on Thursday\, April 18th. Selected applicants will be notified by Friday\, April 12. Up to 12 applicants will be selected to participate.

Come join our Artemis lease members in establishing 3-5 small plots on our 1\,700 acre lease in Crab Orchard\, TN. \nThis will be a 2 day event with each day event being a few weeks apart\, so the food plot process can be completed. The first day\, September 8th\, we will be clearing and prepping the land. While the second day\, September 22nd\, we will be seeding for the upcoming winter food plots. We will discuss how to get started\, seed choices and more during the 2 days.
