SUMMARY:Conservation Leadership Camp
DESCRIPTION:Artemis is excited to offer a place for sportswoman to come together and grow as conservation leaders! We believe a holistic conservation leader knows what it’s like to have boots on the ground and in the water\, how to connect with the land and care for it\, be of service\, practice cultural humility and exchange\, build community\, tell their story and speak their truth\, and chart their path forward to effect change. This camp will include all of that and more! \nAs camp is on the Big Horn River (a blue ribbon trout fishing area) of course we will have daily opportunities for fishing! Totaling a minimum of 8 hours devoted to fishing\, we will have mentors there to assist in each person building confidence as an angler. All skill levels encouraged\, and bring your gear if you have some! Both fly and spinner rods welcome. \nWe have the whole campground reserved for our camp and will work together to coordinate supplies once we accept applications. Don’t have fishing or camping gear? That’s ok! Please still apply and we can loan you some. \n  \nApplications are closed. We will be looking over applications and letting applicants know by July 28th.

The ladies will arrive on Friday Dec 5\, shoot rifles\, meet the mentors\, and camp. This hunt is for ladies who have limited access to whitetail hunting. Ladies will be accompanied by mentors for morning and evening hunts on Saturday and for a morning hunt Sunday. Meals: Dinner will be provided on Friday\, lunch and dinner will be provided on Saturday and lunch on Sunday. SUMMARY:Crafting for Conservation: Rooted in the Tongass
DESCRIPTION:Join Artemis Sportswomen\, the Southeast Alaska Conservation Council (SEACC)\, and Alpine Glacier Creations for an afternoon of learning\, creativity\, and advocacy inspired by the Tongass National Forest. \nSEACC will kick things off with a presentation about the expansive web of life rooted in the Tongass\, along with current threats\, and meaningful ways to use your voice for the land\, water\, and wildlife. \nImmediately after the presentation\, Alpine Glacier Creations will lead a fire-torched enamel earring workshop featuring Tongass-inspired designs. Through the workshop\, participants will use creative expression to turn knowledge into wearable art. \nParticipants will leave feeling informed\, inspired\, and empowered\, with a handmade pair of earrings and a stronger connection to the Tongass you love.

DESCRIPTION:To celebrate Earth Day\, the Sportswomen of Artemis are joining forces with members of the University of Alaska’s Bird Club for an evening of observing and documenting Birds while being Stewards of the wetlands and ensuring they are in prime condition for the wildlife they support. \nThe local Artemis ambassadors\, volunteer with the Southeast Alaska Land Trust (SEALT) stewardship program to monitor wetland conservation properties off of the Mendenhall Peninsula. We are excited to invite others to join us on Earth Day to participate in this collaborative effort. \nThis event is open to all! We encourage women and nonbinary hunters\, anglers\, and conservationists to join!
