SUMMARY:Wisconsin Ladies Wingshooting Nights
DESCRIPTION:Calling all experienced and aspiring Lady Shotgunners! Join Artemis\, Pheasants Forever\, and the Wisconsin DNR at North Bristol Sportsmans’ Club for a couple casual evenings of trap and skeet on Thursday\, July 27 and Thursday\, August 24\, both from 4 pm – 8 pm. \nAll skill levels are welcome – we’ll have a few loaner shotguns on hand if you need to borrow\, and we’ll be shooting alongside a couple Scholastic Clay Target Program coaches who are happy to offer tips and tricks. Certified Range Safety Officers will be present to make sure everyone knows range etiquette and has a safe and fun time. Youth are welcome as well! \nWe’ll provide at least one box per person of 12 or 20-gauge ammunition\, water\, soda\, and light snacks. North Bristol Sportsmans’ Club will provide safety glasses (to borrow) and foam ear protection (yours to keep). Extra ammunition and pub style food and drink are available for purchase at the clubhouse. Come and go as you please\, we just want to see you there!

Join us on September 9th for the kickoff then weekly for virtual learn to hunt upland demonstrations. Finally\, join Artemis for an all women’s upland game hunt on October 7th! Don’t want to hunt or carry a gun\, no problem! join us for a walk in the field with other hunters to get comfortable in the environment. \nRegarding the kickoff:\nWe’re hosting a free\, all-inclusive workshop for those that want to learn more about hunting\, wild food\, and the conservation community. Let us help you get safely outdoors. You’ll find community\, connect to conservation\, and learn about opportunities to harvest your own wild food. This is your invitation to join us in camp for an afternoon of storytelling and screening of the new film series How To Hunt Upland Birds. Durrell Smith and Keng Yang who are both featured in the film will share their personal stories of what it’s like to be a person of color entering the world of hunting for the first time. \nWe’ll also be joined by Lachelle Cunningham and Cecka Parks. Lachelle is a Twin Cities chef and Cecka is the founder of the Minneapolis Meat Collective. They will demonstrate how to break down a bird and cook a wild game meal. She earned her PhD documenting the Kazakh tradition of hunting in partnership with golden eagles in Mongolia. She is currently working as a post-doctoral researcher\, but her true love is flying golden eagles in pursuit of jackrabbits in the American West. Utilizing falconry techniques\, she particularly enjoys teaching rehab eagles the hunting and soaring skills they need to survive in the wild.

DESCRIPTION:Immerse yourself in the serene and exhilarating world of ice fishing with our Introduction to Ice Fishing class. \nThis basic course is designed for beginners and enthusiasts alike\, offering a hands-on experience that will equip you with the essential knowledge and skills to enjoy this winter pastime. \nWe will meet our mentors from BHA at the Broadalbin boat ramp at 10 am EST to move out to our point on the ice together. Lunch will be chili on the ice! After we wrap up at 5pm\, participants are invited to warm up at our social at the Broadalbin Hotel\, where food and drinks will be the responsibility of each individual. \nHighlights include: ice fishing basics\, choosing the right spot\, equipment\, techniques\, fish ID\, and hands-on fishing experience. \nYou will need a NY fishing license and warm clothing to participate in this event. All other equipment is provided.
