This is a unique opportunity to travel some of Georgia’s more remote forests with biologists and researchers. Participants will be assisting the researchers and providing valuable input that will contribute to this important study about Ruffed Grouse abundance and genetic connectivity across the North Georgia mountains\, the southern periphery of ruffed grouse range. \nOur group will convene in person on the evening of Thursday\, April 25th\, for an informational orientation with our Ruffed Grouse experts: Emily Rushton\, Wild Turkey\, Furbearer\, and Ruffed Grouse species biologist for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources\, Wildlife Resources Division\, and Clay Delancey\, Research Coordinator in the Warnell School of Forestry & Natural Resources. Emily & Clay will provide location and activity details regarding what participants will do during the Ruffed Grouse surveys. \nTo ensure all participants are ready for the event\, there will be an info session held via zoom on Thursday\, April 18th. Selected applicants will be notified by Friday\, April 12. Up to 12 applicants will be selected to participate.

SUMMARY:Minnesota Conservation Advocacy
DESCRIPTION:Join Artemis Minnesota and learn how to meet and talk to legislators about important conservation issues. First\, we will have the opportunity to meet virtually in a low-pressure environment to talk about how to meet legislators and tips about how to advocate for conservation issues important to you. For Minnesota members\, you will also have the opportunity in April to meet with legislators and/or join a rally during a Public Lands Day at the capitol in St. Paul!
