Perfect for first time shooters or those that want to freshen up on archery basics. DESCRIPTION:After gaining some of the fishing basics in Fishing 101\, you’ll be able to put them to use at this kayak fishing event! (Please note that attendance at the Fishing 101 event is NOT required to sign up for Kayak fishing). This event is a collab between Artemis and the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW). It’s great for beginner anglers wanting to learn the basics and experienced anglers who want to develop better boat control. Let’s step away from the bank and go where the fish are! \nThis class will teach you how to maneuver and manage a kayak safely and efficiently while fishing. Some of the things you will learn: \n• Choosing proper fishing gear (reels/rods\, fishing line\, electronics/power management\, tackle\, and other tools) for you and your kayak in different conditions.\n• How to balance your fishing gear in your kayak.\n• How and when to select different kinds of bait.\n• Landing a fish with a line or net and proper fish handling techniques.\n• On and off water etiquette towards other anglers\, boaters\, and paddlers.\n• How to be prepared to help yourself and others in the event of a capsize. \nAll gear will be provided\, but if you have any that you want to bring\, please feel free. \nThis event has a limited number of openings so grab your spot ASAP (and if for any reason\, you are unable to attend\, cancel your registration\, or contact me so I can make sure someone else can fill your spot). SUMMARY:Idaho Conservation Leadership Camp
DESCRIPTION:A place for sportswoman to come together and grow as conservation leaders! We believe a holistic conservation leader knows what it’s like to have boots on the ground and in the water\, how to connect with the land and care for it\, be of service\, practice cultural humility and exchange\, build community\, tell their story and speak their truth\, and chart their path forward to effect change. This camp will include all of that and more! \nWe will be fly fishing on the Teton River\, with potential opportunities to fish other nearby rivers as well. We will also have opportunities to hunt grouse and small game in Caribou-Targhee National Forest\, just steps from our group campsite! \nWe have the secured access to a private property for our camp and will work together to coordinate supplies once we accept applications. Don’t have fishing or camping gear? That’s ok! Please still apply and we can loan you some. You are responsible for having your own firearm (shotgun) to use for the hunting parts of camp. \nThings to consider: \n\nFood will be provided.\nThis event is free of charge.\nYou are responsible for paying for your own travel\, but please reach out if that is a barrier to you joining.\nYou are responsible for purchasing your own relevant licenses and tags. All meals and lodging will be included for the weekend\, there is no cost to participants. Hunting will occur in pre-scouted areas in ground blinds with crossbow. Crossbow training is provided. The hunt will take place on Nature Conservancy property.
