DESCRIPTION:Join the ladies of Artemis GA for a limited access public land quota hunt on historic Butler Island in the Altamaha River Delta. A former rice plantation\, Butler Island is covered with a series of flooded impoundments ranging from 18-24″ deep\, making this hunt easily accessible for any wingshooter with a pair of waders. \nQuota hunts on Butler Island allow a limited number of hunters access to only a few of the duck blinds on Saturday mornings through December and January. \nThe Artemis Duck Hunt will be January 21. Only the 8th quota hunt on Butler Island in the 2022-2023 season. Teal and other migrating dabblers are the aim for this opportunity.

DESCRIPTION:Following the completion of the at-home online portion of Michigan’s Hunter Education course\, attendees will complete the hunter education field day and exam at Rose Lake Shooting Range. DESCRIPTION:Want to start packing horses or mules into the backcountry? \nOn Saturday\, April 1\, join the Jemez and Pecos Chapters of Back Country Horsemen and Artemis New Mexico for a hands-on\, pack animal clinic. Throughout the day\, packers will introduce and demo the use of different saddles and gear\, general packing and weighing–including packing for hunting\, knots\, putting on and fitting a saddle\, how to mount and dismount a riding horse while packing\, how to pony an animal\, and the use of a string. \nWe’ll be at the Cyclone Center in Stanley\, NM from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. She’ll discuss some cool highlights of and insights from her studies in the Southeast. Dr. Rubino is a Professor of Conservation Social Science at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
