Auna Kaufmann – Wyoming

Auna Kaufmann is a Wyoming transplant who came to the state for a seasonal field job and never wanted to leave. She grew up deer hunting and fishing in Wisconsin, where she got a degree in Wildlife Ecology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Since moving to Wyoming, she has transitioned into conservation policy work, first with the Wyoming Wildlife Federation and now with the Wyoming Outdoor Council as their government relations manager. She currently hunts deer, elk, antelope, upland birds, and waterfowl, as well as pursuing trout with a new Tenkara rod! Auna is a dog enthusiast and recently bred her first litter of Brittanys under the kennel name “Aviary Kennels” with her Brittany, Waverly. She participates in a number of hunting and dog training clubs, including NAVHDA International, the Skyline Brittany Club, HerUpland, and now Artemis, as well as instructing at “More Than Gatherers,” an all-women’s learn-to-hunt camp hosted by Wyoming Wildlife Federation. She resides in Laramie, WY with her partner and her Brittanys.
